New Jersey Tea is a beautiful, compact shrub that's a favorite native alternative to hydrangea bushes due to its similar look and low maintenance. They are also favored due to their drought tolerant nature, making them easy to establish and keep healthy for any gardener. Its blooms are also attractive to pollinators of all types.

**Please note, these plants are very hard to germinate, so we typically have a very limited stock. Please join our Spring Plant Waitlist to secure yours ASAP.**

Important note: these shrubs are not resistant to deer or other pests, so you'll need to make sure you wire off or add peppermint or pepper oil to your leaves to protect the plant while it becomes established.

Fun fact: New Jersey Tea was utilized during the American Revolution as an alternative to Tea Leaves.

You'll find New Jersey natively to the east of the Rocky Mountains in the continental US.

You will be purchasing a 3" plastic pot containing 1, well-rooted New Jersey Tea plant with 1+ nodes of growth that was grown with love in Minnesota from seed. We will try and provide plants with multiple nodes, but it may vary depending on availability. Pictures on this listing are not perfectly representative to what you will be receiving, however, we will do our best to get you the healthiest plant possible.

We recommend planting the early morning or evening you receive your plant to ensure exposure to the elements is minimal. Also to note, we highly encourage that your planting area should match the desired conditions we note above. If not, we can not guarantee survival of your plant.

Shipments to California, Florida and Arizona go through extra scrutiny by each state’s USDA affiliate and Dept of Agriculture, please keep this in-mind before buying.

Refunds and exchanges are only given if the plant sustains damage beyond wilting/transplant shock or severe breakage of stems. We are not responsible for the condition of the plant after you receive it, as we do everything possible to prepare your plant for safe shipment. Refunds are only given if we receive an image proving significant broken stem damage, substantial loss of leaves (i.e. no more than 4 leaves remaining) or proving that the plant has been thrown out of its container.
